Ki is Universal Life Force Energy. During a Reiki session I bring Reiki to you. For a remote session, I create an energetic connection with you and send you Reiki across space and time. Your body is wise and will use the Ki where it serves your highest and best good. I think of Ki as energetic stem cells and a Reiki session as filling up your tank. If you are new to Reiki and have questions, I am happy to discuss this amazing and elegant modality with you.
How to prepare for distance Reiki
- Make sure you are hydrated.
- Set an intention -if you want. Reiki will always go to your highest and best good and we cannot always consciously know what that is. However, I believe we co-create our reality, so it never hurts to write down what you want to create.
- Say out loud or in your mind “I accept and receive this Reiki for my highest and best good”.
- Ground and center yourself. There are lots of ways to do this. Please let me know if you would like to discuss grounding and/or centering techniques.
- Set up a space where you can rest comfortably for 35 minutes or longer. If the time aligns with your bedtime or nap time, feel free to fall asleep during or after the session. Our bodies heal when we sleep so you'll get bonus goodness.
- You are welcome to play music you find comforting or keep your space quiet.
- Settle into your space a few minutes before we start and take a few deep belly breaths and feel your body relax into your space.
What to expect during the session
- Expect to have your own experience. There are some common sensations but your body is using the Ki where and how you need it for your own path so your experience will be unique to you.
- Common sensations: warmth, coolness (have a blanket handy), heaviness, lightness, drifting in and out of a dream state, and falling asleep.
- I have received distance Reiki while working on a project (not resting). I felt energized and focused on the task at hand.
- If you mind is not quieting down, notice where you are feeling any sensations in your body and send these parts of you love. Affirm to yourself that you accept and receive this Reiki for your highest and best good.
After care tips
- Maintain hydration, it facilitates the Ki flowing through your body and elimination of what no longer serves you as well as the many other benefits of hydration in general.
- Sleep is a great option especially after an evening Reiki session.
- Journaling is such a great practice and I encourage everyone to write down any thoughts, visions, feelings, etc. that come up or sensations they experience. Just like a guided mediation, you may receive information as you are receiving ki.
- Sometimes you won’t notice a thing other than feeling rested after some much-needed self-care.
- Contact me with any questions or comments you have after your session.
